"COSMOS - CELESTIAL BONDS "
Moby Legacy, inauguration May 17, 2026
Moby & Emanuela Giacco: together for mindful sailing, where the energy of the sea meets the light of the stars.
Starting Sunday, May 17, the journey on the Moby Legacy will be enriched with new suggestions.
In the wake of Moby's commitment to a zero-emission future, the work “Cosmos - Legami celesti” was born, conceived by the artist Emanuela Giacco in collaboration with LamaroArte.
Made entirely from recycled nautical ropes, rescued from abandonment on docks and marinas to become living material, sculpture.
The artist imagines a globe that speaks of universal connections where the top is not just a material but a “code,” inviting travelers to reflect on the profound union between humanity and infinity.
The sphere features constellations and zodiac signs, symbols of a time when astronomy was the navigator's only guide. Today, the "Celestial Bonds" remind us that we are part of a single cosmic organism.
"We are made of the same particles that once roamed the cosmos. The matter that was in the stars is now part of our DNA. We still turn to those same stars today when we seek answers." Emanuela Giacco
This work is a tribute to the environmental awareness and innovation of the new Moby ships: a journey where love of sailing and respect for the planet travel at the same speed.
Specifically, the work thus becomes a connecting device: it unites physical and celestial geography, historical and ancestral time.
The nautical ropes become a metaphor for the invisible bonds that hold humanity together. The knots and weaves allude to profound relationships, to a universal network that precedes and transcends all boundaries.
The philosophy underlying the work embraces a unified vision of existence: human beings are not separate from the cosmos, but are a manifestation of it.
The matter we are composed of is the same that, in ancient times, gave rise to the stars; what constitutes our DNA today is the result of a long cosmic journey.
From this perspective, the constellations are not simply signs in the sky, but archetypal presences that continue to guide our gaze and our thoughts.
The work invites us to recognize this profound continuity: the stars that once guided navigators still guide our most intimate questions. We turn to them not only to find direction in space, but to seek meaning in time. This intertwining of strings and light, matter and infinity, evokes a reflection that restores to humanity an awareness of our origins and our belonging to the universe.
Moby & Emanuela Giacco: together for mindful sailing, where the energy of the sea meets the light of the stars.

"NOT MATTER "
For Arti Vie, April 2026, Villa Sospiri, Golfo Aranci, Italy
As part of the "A Look at Golfo Aranci" artist residency project, Per Arte Vie organized the "Il Golfo degli Artisti" event. Events, demonstrations, and exhibitions will take place at Villa Sospiri in Golfo Aranci.
Exhibition entitled " Non Materia" curated by Daniele Pipitone.
Giacco 's intuition to use recycled nautical ropes to create works of art underscores a constant attention to the sea and its protection.
In his "non-matter" series of works, Giacco plays on the meaning of the word consistency. The sculptures are apparently empty, but they arise from a search for meaning; they refer to the existence of immateriality in the universe. What does reality consist of? What is real but invisible? According to the artist, we must consider reality to be much more complex than our appearance.
There is, therefore, a non-matter essence of existence, which coexists with matter and is essential to the existence of material things. With his peaks, Giacco seeks to capture the invisible essence of things, attempting to give them form and volume, inviting us to look more carefully at reality and its profound meaning.

"BUBU - IN THE TWISTS OF THE LITTLE CHILD "
Public work, Venice, San Servolo Contemporary Art Park, San Servolo Island, Venice. Opening October 23, 2025
A large bear woven from reclaimed nautical rope knots, created by artist Emanuela Giacco, has joined the art collection of the City of Venice. The artwork will be managed by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, which has chosen to temporarily exhibit it in the Contemporary Art Park on the Island of San Servolo—a place steeped in ancient history oriented toward the future, hosting works by renowned figures such as Pomodoro, Chia, Plessi, Consagra, and Pistoletto.
The artwork was inaugurated on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in the presence of the Mayor of Venice, Luigi Brugnaro, and the sole administrator of San Servolo Servizi, Simone Cason.
Viewing the world through the eyes of a child is something we have all done, yet over the years, we have often forgotten it.
With this work, the artist aims to recall the wonder, purity of soul, love, and trust preserved by our inner child.
The sculpture serves as a deep reflection on the innocence and wonder of childhood—an invitation to rediscover the purity of spirit and trust that define the child within us.
By using reclaimed nautical ropes, the artist creates works that stand out not only for their aesthetic quality, but also for the powerful symbolic meaning of their weaves and a responsible political message promoting ecosystem preservation through a conscious artistic approach.
The knots that characterize the work allude to the intrinsic bonds between human beings and the cosmos, evoking connections that transcend time and space.
These knots act as a metaphor for the relationships that unite us, suggesting that even though our lives are layered with cultural and social superstructures, a yearning to return to authenticity always remains.
The sculpture invites viewers to look at the world with fresh eyes, freeing themselves from prejudices, fears, and mental frameworks that often inhibit the capacity for wonder. It represents a journey into everyone's childhood—a moment to pause and rediscover what truly matters through surprise and enchantment in every small detail.
With its nostalgic charm and strong connection to ecological themes, this artwork urges us to become attentive custodians of our planet, valuing and protecting the surrounding beauty.
“Art has always questioned the present moment; it tells stories of changes and revolutions, sometimes anticipating them. I believe that today art cannot avoid addressing the climate crisis. I believe in a project that awakens social consciousness,” says artist Emanuela Giacco, summarizing her existential search and message on sustainability.
She continues: “Every year, tons of synthetic textile fibers are discarded, and in the worst cases, dumped onto the seabed, harming Posidonia seagrass and marine species. I believe art speaks through emotions, which is why the message it conveys will always be deeply powerful.”
The sculptures made from reclaimed ropes thus encapsulate the essence of her research: existentialism, the universe, nature, and sustainability.

"SUN - UNIVERSAL LIGHT "
Public work, Golfo Aranci waterfront, Golfo Aranci, Italy. Inauguration September 8, 2025.
The artwork “Sun – Universal Light”, a textile sculpture made from reclaimed nautical ropes, was created to celebrate the friendship between the City of Pompano Beach and the village of Golfo Aranci. The work, inaugurated on September 8 in the presence of Mayor Giuseppe Fasolino, the entire Municipal Administration, a delegation from Florida, and the local community, becomes part of the collection of artworks owned by the Municipality of Golfo Aranci.
The artist, Emanuela Giacco, chose to evoke the powerful symbolism of the sun not only because it is one of the most significant symbols of Florida, a land par excellence blessed by light, but also because the sun carries with it many echoes.
The sun is, in fact, one of the most ancient and universal symbols found in cultures and philosophical traditions throughout the world, carrying with it the concepts of life, energy, enlightenment and rebirth. The sun therefore represents the cycle of life and universal vital energy. Its light symbolizes spiritual rebirth. It is also the symbol of a continuous flow of energy connecting heaven and earth, past and present, creating a sense of cohesion and harmony. In this way, the sun is not only the star towards which we all turn our gaze every morning, but also a powerful symbol of eternal union. A subtle invisible thread connecting all of creation.
To the invisible thread of the sun, the artist contrasts the tangible threads of the reclaimed nautical ropes from which the work is made. Through their weaves and knots, the ropes are intended to speak of bonds.
Each individual knot represents the “Self” of every person, reconnecting to the “Whole” in a weave made of connections.
As a reclaimed material, the rope also speaks of history and traditions; it carries with it all the energy of the seas it has crossed. Reclaimed rope speaks of sustainability.
Sustainability is a theme that concerns all of us; it concerns our home, our beloved planet, a paradise that every day, illuminated by the sun, gives us wonderful sunrises and sunsets, a paradise that offers us extraordinary emotions every day. A paradise that all of us must commit ourselves to protecting.
With this work, the artist and the Municipality of Golfo Aranci wish everyone to look towards the future by following the light, in a perpetual and continuous spiritual renewal.
With this work, the hope is that the friendship between the City of Pompano Beach and the community of Golfo Aranci may shine with a pure light.

"COLOURS OF THE SOUL"
Piazza del Principe, Porto Cervo, Arzachena, dal 3 agosto al 8 settembre 2024
From August 3rd to September 8th , Porto Cervo's Piazza del Principe hosts the art exhibition "Colours of the Soul." The exhibition represents the first stage of the "Ultra" project, curated by LamaroArte , a company active in promoting new talents and established artists, and promises to be a summer hub for the visual arts, aiming to attract a wide audience of enthusiasts and lovers of beauty.
The "Ultra" project was born from the intuition and foresight of art lovers who want to showcase the beauty of Porto Cervo and the Costa Smeralda through significant artistic and cultural initiatives. These include, in addition to the owner of the aforementioned gallery, Emanuele Lamaro, entrepreneur Patrizia Albanese Achenza, and Natale Vinante.
The exhibition, hosted in one of Porto Cervo's most iconic locations, Piazza del Principe, a setting where nature has been shaped by the genius of architect Jean Claude Lesuisse , was conceived as a showcase for new trends in contemporary art, with particular attention to the relationship with the local area.
For this first edition, artists of diverse backgrounds and origins were chosen: Giuseppe Carta, Alessandro De Gasperi, Kyunghee Kim, Emanuela Giacco, Ludwig Antonio Grosa, Bob Marongiu.
United by the purpose of communicating their world through color, the title "Colors of the Soul" stems from the desire to tell the story of each of these artists through the colors that dwell within their souls and that, in the most singular ways, represent their stylistic signature. Each work represents a personal journey into the artist's inner life, fostering a profound connection with visitors, offering multiple levels of interpretation.
Painting, photography, and sculpture create a kaleidoscope of emotions that will make this magical place shine every evening throughout the month of August. A celebration of color and the joy of living.

"THE MATT SEAGULL "
Pier in front of the Porto Rotondo Yacht Club square, Porto Rotondo, Italy.
Inauguration July 18, 2024.

The permanent artwork “Matt the Seagull”, selected by the Porto Rotondo Consortium to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the village, was unveiled on 18 July 2024 in the square facing the Porto Rotondo Yacht Club, with opening remarks by Leonardo Salvemini, President of the Consortium, Count Luigino Donà dalle Rose, and the artist Emanuela Giacco.
Porto Rotondo, the materialisation of a dream passionately pursued by the Venetian Counts Luigi and Nicolò Donà dalle Rose, was born in 1964 from the vision and commitment of the two brothers, with the idea of creating a meeting place for artists and intellectuals: a cradle of creativity, imagination and ideas immersed in an Eden. A natural paradise, conceived and developed with full respect for the surroundings, the landscape and its intrinsic beauty. The artwork was selected by the Porto Rotondo Consortium to celebrate the spirit of dreaming, freedom and courage that characterised the foundation of the village and continues to permeate every corner of Porto Rotondo to this day. Installed on one of the two piers marking the entrance to the harbour, it welcomes every vessel within the harbour’s embrace. It is a monumental work that greets the community both from the sea and from the land. A textile sculpture made from reclaimed nautical ropes, it evokes the powerful symbolism of the seagull. The artwork thus becomes the guardian of a multitude of echoes: from the strength and spiritual quest embodied by the seagull, to the symbolism of nautical ropes and the importance of respect for the environment. As mentioned above, the choice of the “seagull” embodies many of the principles that distinguished and inspired the founders.
A symbol of freedom and light-heartedness, its graceful flight evokes images of boundless spaces where freedom reigns, always soaring with its gaze directed upwards. It is also a symbol of spiritual quest. It evokes the beauty of time suspended in an infinite moment, devoted solely to the contemplation of the horizon. The seagull encourages us to ask questions; it rises towards the sunlight and observes its surroundings from a broader and more complete perspective. It therefore invites us towards spiritual elevation and the attainment of a higher state of Being. It is also a symbol of courage, an intrinsic quality whose achievement calls upon inner strength, determination and self-respect.
Another predominant element of the work is the nautical rope.
In the “rope”, the artist identifies multiple layers of symbolism: the rope follows the law of the logarithmic spiral, a structure found throughout nature, from DNA to galaxies. It describes and encompasses the “Whole”, from the microcosm to the macrocosm; on a purely formal level, the rope is connected to the Fibonacci sequence, which expresses concepts of beauty and harmony.
The rope also speaks of the structures and interwoven layers of the human unconscious that are never completely untangled; the rope becomes a symbol of the bonds that form part of every person’s existence. Bonds understood both as individual ties and as the complex network of structures that continuously and inevitably shape an individual’s choices according to place, historical period, culture and religion. Whether we are conscious of them or not determines the meaning they assume within each person’s experience.
The interweaving of knots becomes a representation of the individual “Self” reconnecting with the “Whole”. Everything merges; everything is connected by a bond, while at the same time each individual thread retains its own dimension and, precisely because of this, is able to perceive what lies beyond itself. From here arises the connection with the Universe, with the Whole, and with nature.
The stage upon which every individual life unfolds — our planet — and the need to protect it thus become central themes, leading the artist’s research to embrace the world of sustainability.
The rope therefore becomes reclaimed rope. The artist searches beaches and seas and involves maritime communities, fishermen and shipping companies in her project, recovering and diverting tonnes of nautical rope from waste and disposal.
The rope is thus imbued with further meaning: reclaimed rope speaks of history; it carries within it the energy of the hands that once held, caressed or pulled it, as well as the strength and tranquillity of the seas it has crossed.
The work therefore seeks to be a tribute to freedom, beauty and courage, but also to the sense of community: a community that looks towards the future with respect and love for our planet.

"IN THE FLAP OF A WING "
MAXXI Museum L'Aquila, from 5 to 21 April 2024.
A pair of butterfly wings, woven from knots of nautical rope and suspended in the air, ready to take flight: this is Emanuela Giacco’s installation, In a Flutter of Wings, selected by the MAXXI Foundation for the fifteenth anniversary of the earthquake that profoundly disrupted the life of the L’Aquila community. An artwork symbolising freedom, transformation and hope, and representing the rebirth of the capital of Abruzzo.
The day of 5 April unfolded with great emotion and deep feeling, with opening remarks by Alessandro Giuli, President of the MAXXI Foundation, Pierluigi Biondi, Mayor of L’Aquila, and a speech by the artist Emanuela Giacco.
A commemorative artwork that draws us back in time, bringing us once again to those sensations, those emotions and that pain, while at the same time looking towards the present and the future. An artwork that seeks to preserve within itself all these dimensions of time: past, present and future. What can be observed, on a purely formal level, are two large butterfly wings. Yet the deepest meaning of the work lies in what cannot be seen, in what comes before the wings themselves: the cocoon. The cocoon is what every citizen of L’Aquila built around themselves in 2009. Almost like automatons, the people of L’Aquila carried on with the practical tasks necessary to rebuild their lives: a new home, a new office, new clothes, new supermarkets, new roads. Everything was new, everything had changed, while so much rubble remained — rubble that weighed like millstones upon people’s souls.
But where was the essence of those citizens? Where were their feelings? Where was each person’s inner “Self”?
It was there, enclosed within a cocoon: an emotional cocoon, tightly wrapped like that of a butterfly; a cocoon in which one could feel safe, a cocoon in which one could lose oneself in the oblivion of one’s own intimacy.
A cocoon that filtered out the outside world; a cocoon that allowed one to hear only the beating of one’s own heart.
An emotional isolation that seemed as though it would last forever. Outside, time passed quickly; inside, it seemed almost motionless. Within that cocoon people changed; within that cocoon grief was processed; within that cocoon a new awareness gradually took shape. After fifteen years, this artwork seeks to reveal the wings.
Through this installation, the entire community is invited, metaphorically, to release its wings; to rediscover the feeling of the wind, of freedom and of rebirth, in a renewed intellectual resurrection.
Wings that point towards the future while carrying the past within their very skin; wings that preserve the thread of the cocoon, forever inscribed in the metamorphosis, in the butterfly’s new form. The knots represent emotional and physical bonds; they represent history and roots; they represent our connection with the “Whole” in its most absolute sense.
The interweaving seeks to evoke the universal energy that is part of each of us, an energy that binds us together while at the same time allowing us to soar higher into the sky.
The predominant colours of the sculpture are grey and light blue.
Light blue symbolises the purity of a new birth, freedom from every form of constraint; light blue like the sky, the sky we look towards in order to feel closer to the loved ones who are no longer with us.
Grey symbolises the rocks of L’Aquila, as well as the strength and resilience of its people.
In a flutter of wings, the past changed the life of an entire community. The past cannot be changed, but a new future can take shape at every moment — always in a flutter of wings.
The artwork seeks to evoke a strength capable of accompanying the gentle flight of the entire community.

"TUFFO - NEGLI INTRECCI UNIVERSALI"
Opera d'arte pubblica, riserva di punta Penna, Vasto, Italia, inaugurazione 12 settembre 2023
We are in Vasto, a town in Abruzzo that, a few years ago, was deeply affected by an event that mobilised the entire community: in 2014, several sperm whales became stranded along the coast.
The City of Vasto, and more specifically the Department of Public Works together with its Technical Office, promoted a commendable initiative in the public interest: the creation of a Sperm Whale Museum within the Punta Penna Nature Reserve.
The project places strong emphasis on the themes of enhancement, conservation and protection of marine species.
The Punta Penna Nature Reserve, one of the jewels of the Adriatic coast, already attracts a very large number of visitors, particularly during the summer season. Its breathtaking landscape deserves to be further enhanced through themes and initiatives capable of increasing tourism among a curious, aware and environmentally sensitive public.
One of the central aspects of the initiative is to keep alive the memory of the stranding, a tragic event that brought the entire community together.
Thanks to the efforts of numerous volunteers, four of the seven sperm whales stranded on Punta Penna beach were successfully rescued.
It is therefore a project aimed at education, a project devoted to memory, a project that looks back with awareness in order to move decisively towards the future with a deeper sense of responsibility.
Within this broader project of enhancement, the proposal is to introduce a work of art capable of embracing all these themes while at the same time conveying a powerful message.
The sculpture encompasses a process that goes far beyond the creation of the artwork itself.
The entire process of sourcing, storing and cleaning the ropes embodies an act of love towards our planet.
The use of reclaimed nautical ropes also gives the artwork a sense of history: a material that has travelled across the seas, carrying with it the marks of a life already lived, a material that does not necessarily have to be “discarded”, but can instead be transformed and enhanced into something unique.
The artist’s message is clear: works of art capable of giving new life to what we “throw away”; works of art that preserve history within themselves; works of art that convey respect for the sea, for nature and for its animals; works of art in which the concept of the “bond” connecting each of us to our extraordinary planet becomes immediately evident.
The artist pays tribute to the memory of the whales involved in the stranding through a hymn to Life.
A whale’s tail becomes the image of a dive, an action filled with life, freedom and lightness.
How much emotion do we feel when we see the tails of these giants of the sea powerfully striking the surface before disappearing into the depths?
How much wonder does this image awaken?
From human beings to animals, from adults to children, everyone experiences unique sensations when diving into the water.
Everyone gives life to a dance of joy and play, reconnecting with the element from which everything originates: water, an element capable of evoking ancient and primordial sensations.
Through the interwoven ropes, the artist instead evokes the concept of the “Whole within the Whole”: the community of Vasto coming together and taking action for a higher purpose — Life.
Yet the message does not stop at what happened. It goes beyond that event. It concerns all of us, every species, the whole of creation: all bound together, all related, all connected.
Through the knots, the artist gives tangible form to this concept, seeking to allow those who observe the artwork to perceive, even if only for a single instant, the feeling of belonging to the Universe through an indissoluble bond that connects everything.
Each of us like a single thread; each of us bound to the rest of the Universe in a dive that becomes a hymn to Life.

"BUBU - IN THE TWISTS OF THE LITTLE CHILD "
01.07.23- 31.10.23, Poltu Quatu, Italy.
.png)
In the enchanting setting of Poltu Quatu, the heart of the Costa Smeralda and a cultural hub, the inauguration of the work "Negli intrecci del fanciullino" (In the Twists of a Little Child), the latest creation by artist Emanuela Giacco, took place. At the center of the inauguration, held in the evocative and artistic setting of the garden overlooking the Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu, the artist unveiled a creation that pursues the leitmotif of sustainability and the art of reuse. Giacco, originally from L'Aquila but now Sardinian by adoption, having moved to Golfo Aranci, has become known to the general public for her works made from nautical ropes.
This intriguing reuse of harbor materials, once intended for other uses, has now become a raw artistic material. After the evening event, the work, which depicts a teddy bear, the quintessential symbol of childhood, standing over two meters tall, will remain on display in the landscaped setting of Poltu Quatu. A stone's throw from the main entrance of the Grand Hotel, it adds color and even more life to an avenue lined entirely with works of art.
We've all looked at the world through the eyes of a child, yet over the years we've often forgotten it—this is how artist Emanuela Giacco described "Negli intrecci del fanciullino" (In the Twists of a Child). This work aims to evoke the wonder, the purity of soul, the state of love and trust that our childhood embodies.
Because it's still there, still there in a corner, intertwined with all the other layers of our being, trapped between the various cultural and social superstructures that shape us. Being able to look at the world through the eyes of a child means arriving at truths intuitively, free from preconceptions, free from fears, free from mental patterns, looking at everything with wonder, as if it were the first time. And how much wonder can we feel when we admire the wonders of our planet.
Yes, because the ever-present subtext of Giacco's artistic research is the defense and protection of the environment, sustainability as the primary creative driver.
"Our planet is suffering, microplastics are endangering the existence of animals and the entire ecosystem," the artist continues. "Progress has accelerated consumerism, which is part of us all. But that same progress also gives us the tools to create clean energy, science provides us with countless answers. What we lack is respect, trust, and love. We don't want to believe in sustainability projects, we don't want to put them first. This work speaks to sustainability; it's made with nearly a ton of recycled nautical ropes to convey a message that awakens social conscience: to return to looking at the world through the eyes of a child, to love and respect it, because it is our paradise."
To conclude the evening, the debate moved to the magnificent rooms of the Ghent Hotel Poltu Quatu, where all the guests toasted together to the little boy, to love, and to life.

"ART FOR THE EARTH"
05.04.23- 30.06.23, Hassler, Roma, Italia.

"Art for the Earth" is the title of the new exhibition conceived by LamaroArte and curated by Marta Banci, inside the historic Hassler Hotel in Rome.
The invitation-only preview for press and collectors will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.
An immersive sculpture exhibition raises questions about sustainability, biodiversity, and conservation.
Can art save the world?
The sculptures by Emanuela Giacco and Silvia Scaringella take center stage, using two distinct languages to empower art to play a vital role in addressing the environmental emergency.
A new sustainability awareness project revolves around Giacco's unidentified faces, guardians and attentive observers of nature. Two globes, formed by intertwined knots, are a clear invitation to reflect on our place in the universe. A symbol of knowledge, the globe has been an object of study and contemplation since ancient times; on this occasion, it highlights the boundless grandeur that humanity has failed to preserve. The use of recycled materials, such as treetops, represents sustainability and recovery, a fundamental theme for existentialism. Humans are responsible for their own lives and the consequences of their actions on nature and the planet. Sustainability thus becomes an ethical and moral obligation, the only way to ensure that future generations can live in a better world.
Silvia Scaringella's bees, responsible for plant pollination and honey production, have taken over the room. They are an essential source of nourishment for many animal species, including humans.
An installation that represents the strength and community of a habitat and that brings visitors back to the intriguing world of these insects, a fragile ecosystem but with a bond as solid as marble.
Artist Scaringella's animals are a tribute to the animal world: mice represent wisdom and cunning, intelligent and astute, yet vulnerable creatures. The exoticism of the talking parrot conveys grace and beauty, a symbol of vanity and intelligence, and is an elegant tribute to nature.
The artists, the event organizers, and the Hassler estate will be present at the presentation for the press and collectors on April 5th.
From April 6th the exhibition will be open to the public by reservation.

"OCEAN "
Public artwork, Piazza Crispi, Olbia, Italy.
Inauguration February 23, 2023.

The inauguration of the work " Ocean" took place on February 23rd, which found a home on the seafront of the city of Olbia, in Piazza Crispi , an area affected by a recent urban redevelopment project that has given the city a magical seafront.
The work was purchased by a private collector who loves art so much that he doesn't want to confine it to the drawing room, but wants to share it with the community. A person with such a noble spirit that he wishes to remain anonymous, he therefore donated the work to Olbia , dedicating it to all the city's dockworkers.
The inauguration was presented by Mayor Settimo Nizzi, who immediately welcomed the initiative with enthusiasm, fully sharing, along with his administration, the principles behind the project itself.
A work that speaks of Sustainability, Bonds and Communion.
In the works included in the "Ocean" chapter, the gentle nature of human beings merges with the theater of life in which each individual is required to lend their presence: our planet. Everything merges, everything is connected by a bond, but at the same time, each thread has its own dimension, and thanks to this, it is able to discern what is foreign to it.
The butterfly effect of chaos theory takes center stage: small variations, those of a single thread, produce large, long-term variations on the entire system.
A work that poses a question that today more than ever can no longer be ignored: the ongoing climate change. A work that seeks to inspire and raise awareness on a topic that, sadly, still seems foreign to each of us. Yet isn't every single involuntary breath we take connected to this?
"Ocean," a textile sculpture made from 250 kg of recycled nautical ropes, represents a project that raises social awareness and raises awareness of the sensitive issue of the ongoing climate crisis.
Art speaks through emotions, which is why the message it conveys will always be very powerful.

"EXTRARTIS, ARTISTS RESIDNCIES"
23.11.22- 28.11.22, Villa Realis La Rupe, Sorrento, Italia.

ExtrArtis , Artists Residencies for the Creative Economy, is the artist residency project that, from 23 to 28 November, will be experimenting its second edition on the occasion of participation in the Art Days Campania - the first large-scale widespread and collective contemporary art event in the Campania Region.
ExtrArtis accepted the invitation to participate in Art Days Campania , positioning itself alongside art galleries, institutions, research spaces and local associations to contribute to the success of this new event of the art agency.
Although ExtrArtis works on an international artistic level, its participation in Art Days Campania has revealed the interscalar capacity of the Artist Residency project to create a transnational network of artists, curators, and professionals in the sector, as well as collectors from Campania and beyond.
The six artists selected for the ExtrArtis project are Luca Arboccò, Francesco Casati, Emanuela Giacco, Mattia Novello, Alice Pilusi, and Federica Zianni , young talents who will enhance the land of the sirens by positioning themselves as artistic excellences of the area, sparking a dialogue between the system's stakeholders, and offering national and international visibility to contemporary art production.
In keeping with the multifaceted regional offering of Art Days Campania, ExtrArtis is a virtuous contemporary art project in the Campania Region, organizing a 6-day residency, educational visits, guided tours of workshops and historic homes, artistic performances, marquetry lessons in Sorrento's artisan workshops, and much more!
The events will take place welcoming visitors and institutions in iconic locations that convey the project's mission, culminating in an international group exhibition featuring six internationally selected artists who will be given the opportunity to experience the revitalization of the Grand Tour venues in the exceptional setting of the Sorrento Peninsula.
The residence selected to host the ExtrArtis 2022 event is Relais La Rupe, located in Sorrento, in the province of Naples, Campania. The residence has been a hub of transnational cultural mobility, welcoming throughout its history writers, artists, and scholars of European importance. The villa's roots in local material culture and the social and artistic context it has developed over the course of its history have shaped an artistic perspective aimed at enhancing the connection between the embedded identities of a still little-known cultural heritage and European artists.
ExtrArtis is a project created by Francesca Ciampa , which develops from several years of research conducted on the hypothesis that the identity of settlement systems is closely linked to the values and skills of the artistic offerings within their territory. ExtrArtis aims to reinterpret the integration between human and cultural capital to establish self-regenerating artistic flows, in which art influences not only the market but also the actors that shape it, creating a viable space for emerging artists.

"NATURALIGHT"
16.06.22- 28.07.22, Galleria Borghini Arte, via Belsiana, 92, Rome.
Galleria Borghini Arte Contemporanea inaugurates Naturalight, the protagonists of this double solo show are Vittorio Campana ed Emanuela Giacco. Two artists who investigate nature with two different languages. Exhibition curated by Tamara Borghini and Marta Banci.
Emanuela Giacco uses recovered tops for her installations, her research has an existentialist matrix. The top as a symbol of the bonds that are part of the existence of each person. The bonds as individual bonds. In his works he emphasizes the complexity of the human being made by the stratification of genetic, moral and cultural codes and refers to the dual nature of all those bonds that the human being experiences in the course of his own existence.
The interweaving as guardian of the active and passive nature of each individual and the interweaving of knots as the representation of the "I" of each individual that reconnects to the "Whole". The summit as a driving element in the path of nature that comes from nature and becomes a central theme, also embracing the world of sustainability. The textile sculptures thus enclose the synthesis of his research: existentialism, universe, nature and sustainability.

"FLORENCE BIENNALE "
23.10.21- 01.11.21, Fortezza da Basso, Florence.

The theme of the XIII edition of the Florence Biennale focuses on the polychrome and multiform universe of femininity, which will be investigated in its many facets, starting from two major guidelines.
On the one hand, the idea that outlines femininity in its immutable essence, which has inspired various of the most important artistic and literary creations in the history of humanity and which unravels from the primordial cult of the Great Mother up to the famous Beatrice of Dante Alighieri and Johann Wolfgang Goethe's "Femineo eterno" (ie the Eternal Feminine): the idea of femininity as a reflection of divinity, as a spiritual love that crosses the boundaries of time, as a source of purification and elevation, and as a strength of the universe that forms and holds everything.
On the other hand, the idea of perennial change that characterizes the contemporary world and that also affects femininity, which has been transformed and is transformed by the thrust of social and cultural movements such as those that have developed around feminisms and communities LGBTQ. From the sexual revolution of the 1960s to the battles for equal opportunities, up to the debate on gender identities, there are countless stimuli that have led to a redefinition of the concept of femininity, increasing its complexity and multidimensionality even more.

"WEAVING,TALE OF THE HUMAN BEING"
10.08.21- 31.08.21, Yatch Club of Porto Rotondo, Molo di Levante, 07026, Porto Rotondo, SS
In August Giacco's textile sculptures will be hosted by the Yatch Club of Porto Rotondo, in collaboration with the Canova gallery.
The inspiration that leads to the definition of Giacco's textile sculptures was born in Sardinia, from the observation of the gesture of a sailor who, in handling the ropes, imprinted on them vigor and at the same time love. The project is linked to a double theme: environmental, providing for the use of peaks that are abandoned and historical, the use of peaks already lived brings with it the history and scents of sea travel.
The art of sailing, fishing, love for the sea is transposed into the top object and then takes on a new life in works of art that carry their experience with them.
Thus was born the dialogue in the Yacht Club headquarters, to celebrate the meeting of the different worlds of art that thus find a union.
The peaks of Giacco hold the mystery of life, they are ropes that carry with them all our past, they tell about our bonds and the superstructures we undergo but at the same time they are bridges for our desires and for our future, all in one .

BONDS
09.07.21- 15.07.21, Scoobafish Art Gallery, via Maddalena 3, 07026, San Pantaleo, SS
The Scoobafish Art Gallery presents Emanuela Giacco's exhibition entitled Legami, critical texts by Giuditta Elettra Lavinia Nidiaci. With the inauguration on Friday 9 July, the dialogue between Giacco's works opens with the works of Maurizio Sergiusti, artist as well as owner of the gallery. An event aimed at stimulating a constructive confrontation in which the issues are addressed from different perspectives.
Following the words of Giuditta Elettra Lavinia Nidiaci
“We could be walking around in any city, with the heat, hand in hand and I should notice your sad smile and then give you a kiss or take your face and make you make a face that mimics the joy. You would smile and my wish for happiness for you would be fulfilled. The truth is that I like your sad smiles, because they look good to you, because you know how to treat them, you know how to use them and put them in line without breaking ranks. If I did it, it would be painful. This is the point: I think and desire new things. It doesn't matter what I know. For the first time, it doesn't matter. I don't know where they come from or what they are called and I couldn't explain them to anyone except you, with a little time, with a little pause, with those silences that I couldn't fill at the beginning. But I could learn. I'm a bad romantic, I admit. That's why I couldn't make you fall in love. I know it is. I figured that I could be enough, with my normal ways and a swashbuckling air. Faithfully safe. And time, to explain what is missing, to show you that it would be worth it in the end. I tried, what to say, to make me choose. I hoped. I had to. It was a possibility, do you understand? How to put it away, to forget it. Maybe waiting, maybe it wasn't the time. Maybe you and I have another time. I'm sure with a few more days, now more, I would have taken you away with me. It's the idea that it happens at least once, isn't it? You know? That invasive and subterranean idea that sinks or reveals itself and does it once and for all and if you feel it you can't ignore it if you have some sense. Like a floating and sinuous hiss. This happened to me: I couldn't pretend nothing happened, I didn't want to, after all. I could not help but try to take you with me, from the depths, almost out of selfishness, to make me feel good. Even though I knew I couldn't. Even if it was risky. Even if you don't want to, even if, ultimately, your happiness doesn't depend on me. And I can't help but ask you again. Just to be sure. Would you come? "
(From Italo Calvino, Before you say "Hello", 1985)
Legàmi is a noun that gives us back and embodies the idea of the feelings that lie in the Hyperuranium without an apparent pragmatic confirmation. Légami is a verb conjugated to the imperative, a command with which the intention to live and enjoy a feeling is often manifested. The sculptures modeled by Emanuela Giacco for Scoobafish Art Gallery, through intertwined ropes now bending to a rigid order now following an entropic chaos, easily suggest the intent of the same to convey a pulsating energy, to be the connector of an ideal visual inspiration. . The title of the exhibition, as well as the modus and medium that allowed the realization of the works, have in themselves the self-evident reference to the textures that materially make up the fabric, and therefore, in a figurative sense, to the cooperation between the artist and his public. , who through their mutual interaction, operate and discover a reinterpretation of both the artist's person and a particular social fabric, which goes beyond the usual context of sector expertisers. Here, as Gino De Dominicis asserted, it is not only the work that is exposed to the public, but it is also the latter that is exposed to the work. Works, those of Emanuela Giacco, which present a close reciprocal correlation, not only for modus and medium, which repeat and follow each other, of realization of the same: the alpha and omega of the project all merge and synthesize in the large ball of a black cosmic, it is in fact from there that everything flows and flows together as for an archetypal ideal, which also turns its gaze to the previous pictorial poetics of the artist.

IN SEARCH OF INTABLE BALANCES
08.08.20- 29.08.20, Spargi Room, Grand Hotel Poltu Quatu, 07021, Arzachena

It is with a personal exhibition curated and presented by Sabrina La leggia that Emanuela in the summer of 2020 is being discovered at Poltu Quatu. In the heart of the Costa Smeralda in a "particular" summer the artist sends a signal of courage and strength, we are in fact in the midst of the pandemic caused by the Sars-Cov 2 virus which has drastically frozen our lives. Following the words of Sabrina La Leggia.
"Nothing is created; Nothing is destroyed"
It is the law that identified Lavoisier, the scientist who in the eighteenth century was the initiator of modern chemistry. The works of the artist Emanuela Giacco suggest a poetic evolution of this scientific rule: Metamorphosis, Sulle corde del Destino, L'Eterno scalare, Il Burattinaio, Presenza Absenza, Absence Presence, Reflection, Inside, Outside, The grasp of Silence , Gesture of Intellect, Behind the Face I, Behind the Face II, The Abduction of Proserpina, Morale of the Individual, Alchemy.00, Alchemy.01, Alchemy.Throne and Alchemy.in Gold. The point is the fusion between the spiritual and physical world, between human and virtual, between the artist's narrated bodies and space in time.
In this exhibition, Emanuela observes a contemporary universe in which the connection between human beings is so close that their freedom is difficult. Bodies in constant metamorphosis, are trapped by tight ropes, in an impossible search for "unstable balances". The story, which is anything but linear, is unstructured, as are its bodies and the images of the iconography of Christ.
Great names of the past are the masters who inspired Giacco: Magritte, Dali and Balthus.
Each of them studied the relationship between human nature and time in a personal and rigorous way, giving Emanuela ideas and teaching her a lot.
The entire exhibition is a narration on the genesis and evolution of the human being.
One of the most interesting artists of her generation, Emanuela Giacco, works with clarity and a critical sense on an investigation into universal themes linked to the psychological effects of human relationships. The theme is exactly this, human frailty and Emanuela puts it into action before our eyes, involving us immediately.

For them, the wild landscape and compatible architecture were at the heart of the development of the village. The mimesis of nature becomes the means by which architecture appropriates natural models to create works that equal beauty in an eternal challenge, just as Art does in its vanity in search of beauty.
The artists, selected on the basis of their artistic paths, will be present with their works, mirror of their souls. A jury, composed of Count Luigi Donà dalle Rose, Mrs Pai Hruska, the sculptor Emmanuel Chapalain, Sabrina La Leggia, and the curator of the exhibition Aldo Manzanares, will have the task of choosing the winning artist of the fourth edition of “PortoRotondo Le Quai des Artistes ".
Giacco wins the first prize which she receives excited by the hands of the Count. Giacco's work chosen by the Jury, Alchemy. Trhone, will then be exhibited in the new and prestigious "Porto Rotondo Art Gallery", partner of the event, in Piazza San Marco. The artist was honored by Mrs. Pai Hruska with a sculpture by Claus Joans, an auspicious $, delivered by the president of the natural shopping center Marcello Lombardo, organizer of the event.

RESISTANCES
from 29.03.19 to 3.04.19, Palazzo dell'Emiciclo, L'Aquila
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the L'Aquila earthquake , it seems to be able to find strength and memory, thanks to the strong message that culture and expressly art transmit.
Resistenze is an exhibition that sees two artists from L'Aquila performers who, with different experiences and having had national and international recognition and training, question themselves on the process of reworking pain, and try to tell with images, not only the sufferings and losses, but above all what it is possible to find, through paths that are those of knowledge, of the interior life, but also those of nature and confrontation with events. From the first three sections, destiny, pain and reflection, we arrive at spring, still understood as the preparation of an awakening.
With different techniques, in formats ranging from very large to small, Giacco and Serpetti expose the symbols that embody these processes: destiny is the rope or the mannequin, pain is physical but it is also fear and inability to foresee nature and ambushes.
How to get out of predestination from pain.
Man does not know, but he can close himself and reflect, so the images of the exhibition become solitary heroes closed in on themselves, guardians or warriors. Resistance is renewal, waking up in spring, after visiting unknown and underground places and having recovered a new strength.
The eye ranges between colors that are sometimes bright and strong, sometimes fade and soften. The different techniques, as well as the stylistic rendering, give the exhibition a particular incisiveness, as if, by descending into these paths of resistance and fear, the vision is confused, seeking in the painting an optimal description for the emotion. The exhibition is promoted by the NOT TO BE Cultural Association in collaboration with the Concentus Serafino Aquilano Music Association, which supported the event, which anticipates the events scheduled for the tenth anniversary, which expressly looked to two young local artists by birth, but open to multiple Italian and international experiences, in order to create public and private collaboration for the benefit of culture. The prestigious seat of the Hemicycle Palace , made available by the Abruzzo region, and the far-sightedness of public institutions, are combined with the efforts of partners and supporters, so that an event of resonance is created, not only at the territorial level, but able to to attract an audience of collectors and lovers of culture, to make circuit, network and dissemination. The exhibition is curated by Monica Di Paola, with a contribution by Marina Mattei, accompanied by a catalog edited by Monica Di Paola and Marina Mattei.

The “fable mélancholique” in male passions 08.06.18, 5.00 pm, Rome
"ARTAND TRUTH"
"Science is no longer concerned with the physical and material world; moral philosophy has lost the direction of the intelligences; religion still governs the masses in some way, but it does not reign in the highest social spheres; the principle of charity, which inspires it, always exists, but that of faith no longer shines. The intellectual leaders of our times are unbelievers or skeptics, perfectly sincere and loyal, but they doubt their art and look at each other with a smile like Roman wishes. Publicly, privately, they foresee social catastrophes without finding the remedy, or they wrap their dark oracles in cautious euphemisms.
Under these auspices, literature and art have lost their sense of the divine. A large part of the young people, having lost sight of the eternal horizons, turned to what the new masters call naturalism, thus degrading the beautiful name of nature; for what they speak of this word is nothing but the apology of the base instincts, the mud of vice or the complacent painting of our social baseness, in short, the systematic negation of the soul and intelligence. And the poor psyche, having lost its wings, groans and sighs strangely in the depths of the conscience of those who insult and deny it "
Thus, in 1887, Schurè wrote in the preface of one of his greatest books, current words which unfortunately still seem to describe today's scenario.
Hence the cycle of Hide True works which, like an oxymoron, places the accent on the evils of today, linked to a decidedly winning materiality over spirituality, showing the raw face of prevailing materialism as opposed to the divine torch, and thus generating reflection on the path of salvation, loaded with light, faith, energy and trust in human freedom.
