"in my mind"

The sculptures in the "In My Mind" chapter explore what governs thought, offering a visual reflection on the workings of the human mind. Thoughts are represented here as intertwined and tangled, a metaphor for a mental process that rarely follows linear trajectories and is constructed through accumulation, superimposition, and continuous reference to lived experience.

The perception of external reality is filtered by memories and previous experiences: often unconsciously, thoughts become wrapped up in themselves, giving rise to a complex and ever-evolving plot.

The work takes the form of a face cast in transparent epoxy resin, with deliberately impersonal features. This formal choice shifts the focus from the subject to the thoughts, which become the true protagonists of the composition. The visible threads hint at a deeper, more elusive structure: in the attempt to trace its origin, each path leads to other threads, in a potentially infinite chain.

The work thus suggests that the goal is not the codification of thought, but the acceptance of its complex and layered nature, inviting us to experience reflection as a present, open and unresolved experience.
